The new commander of the British army called on his country’s forces to be ready to face and defeat Russia in a possible “World War III”.
The new British military commander, General Patrick Sanders, said the Russia-Ukraine war had shaken the foundations of global security, trends reported, quoting the Daily Mail website.
He pledged to organize an army capable of defeating Russia in battle. Sanders said British forces must have the courage to prepare for battle in Europe once again.
In his first message to his troops since taking office, Sanders stated that the world has changed since the war in Ukraine.

“We will be a generation that must be ready to fight in Europe once again,” he said, referring to World War II.
“I am the first Chief of Staff of the British Army since 1941 to lead an army in the shadow of a ground war in Europe in which a continental power is participating,” the British official said. The scale of Russia’s enduring threat shows that we have entered a new era of insecurity. It is my unique duty to make our army as deadly and effective as possible. The time is now and we have the opportunity to use it.
“The Russia-Ukraine war emphasizes that our main goal is to protect Britain by preparing for battle and winning wars,” he said.
