JK Simmons was born on January 9, 1955. His father, Donald, is a university professor, and his mother, Panrisa, is a principal. He grew up in a family of five and has a sibling. He has been working in the field of acting since 1976.

JK Simmons began his career in 1976, making his cinematic debut at the age of 42, starring in the film Extreme Measures, directed by Michael Appet.
