Cain grew up in Yuma, Arizona. He is a graduate of Kufa High School; Cain set a record of 110 wrestling matches and 10 losses in four years. He won the 5A Wrestling Championship twice for Kufa High School in Arizona. Cain played football (American football) for three years. He was the captain of the football team and the wrestling team. He was a tackle player and played as a line backer in defense. He attended Eva Central College for one season after high school.
