How Long Does It Take To Beat Unpacking?
Completing The Main Story
Unpacking is not a very narrative-focused game. Its tale about the main protagonist’s ever-changing surroundings isn’t told through long cutscenes. Instead, the title uses a subtle form of storytelling, and the whole narrative lasts around 3 hours.
However, the exact completion time can vary based on how fast you are at unpacking all of your things. For instance, some have taken up to 5 hours to play through the entire game.
100% Completion Run
As you’d expect, Unpacking doesn’t a giant open-world or an abundance of side content. Yet, something you might wish to know before starting the game is that the levels contain secret things to find and do. Plus, the title comes with a full set of achievements to earn.
In Unpacking, the premise is simple; unpack a box of things into one or multiple rooms of a house. It seems simple, but you can tell a lot about a person by the things they have. And as time goes on, a story unfolds. Players will follow someone’s life from childhood until adulthood, with all of the ups and downs that come with growing up and moving on to new things.
When our reviewer first sat down to try Unpacking, it was already getting late. Determined to try the game out for a level or two, it eventually turned into three hours and four completed levels.
